Coastal Kids Guest Room

I’ve got nothing but concrete and dirt to share over at the new house. While I’m excited they are making progress, it doesn’t exactly make for a pretty blog post. So, I thought I would switch gears back to my parent’s house in Florida. Their master bedroom furniture didn’t show up before my flight left, but I did snap the fun guest rooms.

Guest room #1 is the designated kid room, so my mom wanted it to be a bit more fun for my kids and my niece and nephew. She picked this brighter teal color and I love the energy this room has.

We kept the same bedding from my parent’s Florida condo, but we swapped out these brighter pillows.

My mom found these cute bouys at a vintage market. I’m sure my angel children will rip them off the wall being the pirates they are, and try to sword fight with them, but they look cute for now :)

This cute little lobster guy added a bit more fun and that’s it we were done. Easy and cute guest room that my kids are begging to visit! Sounds like our run of warm fall gorgeous weather is about to end in a snowy mix this weekend, so I’ll be itching to visit soon too!

  1. I love all the decorating you do, Kelly! I too live in a Lake House, and we have a little Florida condo. I wish both places looked as fabulous as yours.
I would love to know where you got the adorable little lobster guy hanging in the kids room. You had it in the bathroom at the previous condo, and you have creatively reused it here. You have great talent in moving those charming accessories from home to home and making them look as though they belong perfectly in each one. I need a lobster picture for my Florida bathroom too!
    Thank you.

  2. What a great room! Interesting that you didn’t out anything directly above the headboards…but in the middle, to the side of the beds. My decorator told me that with curved headboards, you never put anything above them, but to the side, like you did. I took her advice and am so glad I did. Always wondered why the wall above our bed looked “off”, now I know. ?

    1. Hi Toni, yes we tried hanging a few things above the beds but you are right they just looked off with the curved headboards. The lobster guy fit in the middle perfect :)

  3. Great looking rooms — the kids will love them. I love that wall color very coastal and a perfect bed shade. I bet you now have quite a few frequent flyer miles accrued — Michigan to Florida. Wow! Hope you can get it non-stop.

    1. There is a nonstop thankfully but I haven’t been back sadly since my first whirlwind trip. We are going to visit in February though!
