Aren’t all those vintage suitcases you find in antique stores great? Sometimes they aren’t in the best condition but that is easily fixed! I came across these cute suitcases on Pottery Barn’s website…
they are on sale for $140 for the pair (what???)
I found this suitcase for $6.
After soaking this lovely bumper sticker in Goo Gone and scraping at it like a crazy woman I finally applied a layer of gray paint.
Better already but I really liked the fun stripey ones. So I got out some craft paint and painters tape. Although I ended up free handing some of the stripes because I’m too impatient to watch paint dry and the nap time clock was ticking!
Fun right? Easy too, not to mention $6 vs $140…
It fits in perfect on my bookshelves.
Thank you H.H. whoever you are for your cute little suitcase :)
I have seen a few other painted suitcases floating around Pinterest, there is an especially cute one by The Concrete Cottage here.
So don’t let some dirt, or bumper stickers stop you from picking up a cheapie suitcase and turning it into something unique!
