Full disclosure – I just downed half a bottle of Nyquil.
Ok, not half the bottle, I’m not addicted to cold medicine, I promise. I perhaps took more than the allotted 2 tbsp prescribed, but I’m fighting a nasty cold. That’s right we went from the stomach flu straight to head colds.
Ahhh, the joys of having a germ infested pre-schooler in the house :)
So I’m going to eek out a quick post before I (fingers crossed) fall into a Nyquil induced coma and wake up feeling fabulous tomorrow.
It snowed last night, and I think that gives me a little license to break tradition and break out a little Christmas decor.
This little project is going to be part of my Christmas mantle. I just gathered up a bunch of glass jars from around the house. Trust me you have more than you think…
I may have resorted to emptying out a jar of marinara sauce into a ziploc bag…
Then just dump some Epsom salt into each jar and pop in a votive candle.
Tada – cute and wintery Christmas candles!
….and now I’m going to catch some zzzzz’s…
You really made me laugh…although I’m sorry you are feeling lousy. I just got over the stomach flu and before that a chest cold. Nyquil became my best friend! If I’m going to be sick, I want to sleep through it! lol!
I love these little jars and I have plenty of Epsom salts, my hubby likes to soak his poor aching muscles in it. Thanks for a very cute idea and get better soon, Kelly!
XO,
Jane
Those are really cute!! And very winter-wonderlandish….perfect to Segway into Christmas.
Sorry you’ve not been feeling well! Nyquil really knocks me out, too! Love your candle arrangement, thanks for the reminder on the Epsom salts as snow!!
lol, you’re funny. These are beautiful, not just because of their utter simplicity, but their raw beauty is kept pure in color and display. Gorgeous!
So cute!!! Please join me at Welcome Home Wednesday at http://www.vintageonadime.blogspot.com and feel better! I work with preschoolers… My doc calls them snot factories!!! Lol But they are darned cute… Lol Deb:)
I’m visiting from Savvy Southern Style. These are really lovely! There’s something about pretty jars, and white candles that always charms, especially in a grouping like you’ve put together. I’m tempted to pull out some wintery stuff too, after getting a bit of snow here in Colorado this past weekend. I’m following you now, and looking forward to checking out more from The Lilypad Cottage. Feel better!
So sorry you are under the weather. I hope the golden glow serves to lift your spirits.
Blessings and thanks for sharing,
Carolynn

couldn’t be simpler, yet so perfect grouped together like that.

Great candle display. Love the idea! Sure hope you’re feeling better soon.

This is my favorite idea ever! I just emptied a pickle jar and a salsa jar — there may or may not have been a science experiment going on — and I actually have a whole bag of Epsom salt so I’ll be sporting some of these in my home this winter!
:)

Wow that looks so beautiful! I hope you feel better soon.

Hi Kelly! You prove simple ideas are the best! The candles look lovely sitting on the “snow”. Found your link at Stone Gable. The French Hens will be joining your blog. Please visit the Nest and check us out.
Feel better soon…

Playing with fire while taking Nyquil? That should be a warning on the label. :) I would be in serious trouble…it knocks me out.
Love the Epsom salt “snow” it’s very sparkly. Thanks!
I just became your newest follower!

Very cute! I just put a few candles in jars today as well because it was cold and rainy and I needed some cozy! But I think I need to add some epsom salt because yours are even cuter! They probably catch the wax well too so you don’t have to scrape it off later? And I had a good laugh about emptying out marinara! :)
Gotta love a project that’s quick & easy & inexpensive AND looks great too! Love your wintery candles :-)
Hope the Nyquil works its magic fast!
Love it! Thanks for sharing……(Don’t ya love nyquil. It rocks, lol)
