Christmas Tablescape

So excited to share my Christmas Tablescape with you all.

The best part is – it’s still there! That’s right, for whatever reason my little junior destructo toddler boy has totally ignored climbing on the table the last few days. I thought for sure by now he would be wielding a candlestick like a light saber…

I didn’t buy anything for this tablescape, I just used what I had around the house. The “urn” this is sitting in, is actually one of those 3 tiered hanging things to put fruit in. I bought it a long time ago to hang in my pantry, but it didn’t fit. It was only $6, so I figured I would find a use for it down the road.

I disassembled it and stacked 2 of them together.

I picked some greenery in the woods again (this time I wore gloves see here where I went wrong last time around – no hives this time, I’m happy to say!).
Some pine cones and branches got a coat of silver spray paint.

I tied these cute little jingle bells to the branches with dental floss. During the course of this shoot several may or may not have fallen off due to the floss melting from the candle flame – oops. Otherwise I would definitely recommend the floss route and – bonus: you get a fresh minty smell :)

The branches are just stuck in some floral foam.

Love my mason jar light fixture (there are actually 2 above the table) – and no, I didn’t make it, Pottery Barn did, and now I have seen a million great tutorials on how to DIY in bloggy land.

So that’s my table, by the time I post this it will have been destroyed by my little guy, as I’m sure I jinxed myself by mentioning it :)

How’s your holiday decorating coming along?

  2. This is so beautiful, Kelly! I love the greenery with the pretty silver pinecones and the jingle bells. Good luck with keeping it intact–I’ve been working on decorating today, there are boxes everywhere, and I had 3 cat helpers to boot!

  3. I love your table scape! A bit industrial, natural, rustic and festive! Hope it stays safe! I have a 2 adn 1/2 year old grand daughter and a 5 yhear old grandson who live here and love tro touch everything! The light saber comment definitely struck a chord with what goes on around here! LOL My decorations are a bit slow – tree is up with lights on it. Need to get the ornaments on then do a couple more trees, one pink 3.5 foot and a small cute little white one for the kids, then other things. I’m hoping to put it into high gear tomorrow! I probably just jinxed myself with that comment and something else will come up! LOL Hugs, Leena

  6. A great table, love that you use what you had around the house. I’m your newest follower, would love to have you stop by and follow too. Looking forward to getting to know you, Laura

  7. How pretty! I love the natural elements mixed with the metallic touches — such a great idea to spray paint the pinecones! Holiday decorating is movin’ along over here — we got our tree up over the weekend and it’s been wonderful!

  8. I love the natural elements mixed with the glimmer of the silver. And you know what?? This could easily last into the new year as simple a “winter” tablescape.
