Pardon our dust – Bathroom progress
If you follow me on instagram, then you have seen a few sneaky peeks of the progress over at my parent’s house! It is going to look awesome and I’m so excited for it to be done. I’ll back up a minute, if you are new here, my parent’s live down the street from us and their 12 year old master bath and bedroom was ready for a facelift. You can check out the before post here.
and now for the in progress shots…
Pardon our dust, because these photos are definitely in progress photos! In fact, I kinda snuck in my mom’s house while she was gone and snapped these, so cross your fingers she doesn’t kill me for showing you all her house in such a mess!
At least it’s construction mess and not – haven’t done laundry in 3 weeks mess and it’s all currently sitting on my living room couch mess…
not that I know anything about that kind of mess…ahem…
Anyways, use your imagination and focus on the gorgeous new tile, pretty hardwood flooring, and beautiful cabinetry and ignore the guy’s coffee cups and nail guns.
Here is a shot of the glorious new marble shower! Marble for days people! There will be a glass wall installed in here yet.
The marble continues on the floor in here, obsessed with this basket weave tile. We broke up all the marble with this crisp white subway tile on the wall.
My mom found this cute grey bathroom cabinet from Home Decorators. She changed out the hardware and had a new concrete counter top poured for it.
This back wall serves as a room divider between the master bath and bedroom. It only goes up halfway thru the room, so it doesn’t break up the feel of the vaulted ceilings. The windows are totally blown out in this photo, but they have gorgeous lake views out them.
Onto the bedroom, my parents closet is pretty small and they were really lacking storage in here, so my mom got the idea to add built-ins around their bed.
Their first cabinetry quote was crazy expensive, so I brainstormed a bit and suggested she reuse their headboard, footboard and nightstands which saved a ton of money. The cabinet maker just cut the feet off and built the new cabinetry right around them.
They are still missing the doors and shelves, but they will give my parents so much extra storage when they are done.
We snuck drawers under the bed as well. Oh and check out the new hardwood flooring!
Here’s a better look at it in the sitting room –
Ahh can’t wait to show you all the finished rooms! Stay tuned!

Hi, loving the bathroom. Can you tell me what the floor tile material is made of? Can you tell me where you got the floor basket weave tile and subway tile on the walls. We are redoing our 100+ year old Craftsman bath and I’m not sure why but I’m having trouble matching subway (for shower) and basket weave (floor).
Hi Shelly they were all purchase at a local tile company not sure the exact brands or anything sorry! The floor tile is marble. Thanks!
I love the hardwood floor at your parents house! Where can I find it??? We are doing our whole house in hardwood, and I have been looking for some like this!
Where
Where did you find this hardwood and what is the name of it?
Hey Joy I asked my mom and she is still waiting to hear back from the flooring guy on it. Hopefully I’ll have an answer for you when I do my next post on her home, thanks!
Beautiful and it’s not even finished !
Thanks Marijean, it’s getting close!
So beautiful.
By the way, what is the finish/color on the wood floor in the bottom photo? We’re refinishing our floors, and I love that shade.
