Cozy Quilt Christmas Mantel Decor

I know it’s not even Thanksgiving, but I have been busy going full on Christmas over here, and wanted to share just in case you need a little inspiration. I’m saving the tree for my house tour next week (can’t wait to share!), but I’m sharing the next best thing – my Christmas mantel decor.

I went classic again this year using lots of red, but my very favorite thing is this quilt block wooden sign from Little Bits of Everything Etsy shop. Isn’t it gorgeous? She makes the cutest signs, so be sure to check out her shop. I love the cozy classic vibe of it, and it has the perfect amount of distressing.

Snowshoe Christmas Mantel

I’m going for an old ski lodge feel this year and snagged these vintage snow shoes at the flea market. I stalked these for 2 months! The guy just did not want to come down to my price and I had immediate buyers remorse when I walked away. By some miracle they were still there the next month, and they were actually tagged with the price that I had originally offered the guy, whoop!

Ok, let’s talk garland for a minute. I posted a little sneak peek of this on Instagram (there are a few more sneak peeks, plus lots of fun behind the scenes stuff so you should come follow along!) and I had lots of questions about whether this garland was real or fake, and the answer is both!

I like to start with a wired fake garland, because it gives me more flexibility to get the shape I want. It’s so much easier to bend and shape to get it to hang just right. This is being held up by just 2 staples in the top of my mantel. I slipped floral wire thru the staples and tied it around the ends.

Then I went out in the backyard and trimmed our evergreens, we have juniper, boxwood and pine trees so I got a little from all of them. I wove the clippings into the garland along with some faux red berries. To keep it fresh, I lightly spritz it with a spray bottle a few times a week.

Large bulb Christmas Light GarlandI also added these outdoor patio lights, which are so fun.

And yes, the presents in the stockings are totally fake, just ask my kids, they checked :)

Birch Log Christmas Centerpiece

My coffee table is sporting a pile of birch logs, antlers, and a few ornaments piled in there for some color.

Alright, I’ll let you get back to your Turkey prep, I myself am in charge of pies this year, so I’ve got some work to do myself. Happy Thanksgiving everyone and don’t forget to check back next week for the big Holiday Housewalk tours!

If you need more inspiration in the meantime, check out my Christmas Tour from last year here!

  5. It’s just beautiful. The garland is really full and lovely. Love the pops of red. The quilt sign is so pretty too. I would have ordered one for my own mantel but the largest the etsy shop had was 12×12 inches. Anyway, thanks for sharing your beautiful fireplace. Looking forward to seeing more.

  6. Beautiful Kelly. I definitely want to go with the larger garland. Incorporating native foliage is perfect! I have boxwood, magnolia and pine. Maybe I’ll be alittle more motivated this year. I was so excited yesterday, Target had a whole section of Kate Spade look alike wrapping and boxes. I went crazy (I have 2 daughters age 20 and 25) I m so excited to have that under the tree.

  7. Your house looks so cozy!! I bet the kiddos are so excited as well as Buddy!! One of my favorite decoration of yours is your white sweater on big embroidery hoop!! That is such a neat idea!! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
