Coastal Dining Room Decor

We finally got another rainy day in Michigan so I could crack my computer open. We are pretty close to resorting to rain dances over here because the lake is down about two feet and we can hardly get the boats out. I’m quick finishing up the coastal condo decor tour from my parent’s new beach condo today. Let’s take a spin through the dining area.

Here is the dining area before –

and After –

A dining room table

As you can tell we simplified the light fixture a bit with this lantern from Home Depot. Swapped out the table for a nice weathered wood looking one and nixed the maroon rug on the floor. We are still on the hunt for a new rug in here so if anyone has a good jute round rug source let me know!

Once again the lightened up Top Sail paint color totally saved the day in here.

The glass jars are from Pier 1 and the wall art is from World Market. It brings in all the right colors and helps define the dining space without being too busy on your eye.

On the opposite wall there is this little extra seating area, before the furniture was really heavy.

And After –

A living room filled with furniture and a fireplace

We found the chairs and pillows at Pier 1 and they are perfect for pulling up to the table when we extend the table with the leaf.

This lamp and the table were tucked in a corner in the condo before, so we were able to repurpose them.

Here’s a nice long shot of their condo. A few of you asked in my previous post where they got the cute coordinates sign. Their friends made it for them, isn’t it awesome?!

I just love the overall feel of the condo now, all that’s left to do is walk across the street and hit the beach!

  1. Hi Kelly, I love both of the Florida transformations you did for your parents. The perfect relaxed coastal vibe. If you still have the information, I would love to find a similar lantern hanging light fixture. Now following on FB and Instagram. Great work.

  2. Well done, Kelly! You always inspire me. Trying to achieve much the same look at our coastal home here in Nova Scotia.

  5. Wow! This is my kind of decorating! Bet your parents are thrilled over the makeover! They definitely won’t be shoveling snow this winter in Michigan! Florida is gorgeous here during the winter months. You should sneak down, too! You deserve it! I’m still trying to create my beach house. Actually it’s coming along quite nicely. It’s all because if you, Kelly! Enjoy the rest of the summer, because before you know it, we will be replacing our seashells for pumpkins! (Blue & white, ofcourse), xo
