Friday Feels – Fall

Welcome to another Friday Feels where I share what I’m “feeling” this week. This post may contain affiliate links.

This week I’m feeling fall, finally! The weather cooled down here in Michigan midweek, and I’m starting to break out the cozy sweaters and boots. I’m working on my fall window boxes a little bit today. They are still a work in progress, but I thought I would give you a little sneak peek.

I started with some mums and cabbages. I feel like with the dark grey siding, bright orange may not be the best, so I went with this deep purple shade. I really wanted to add in some light purple mums as well, but I haven’t been able to find any.

I kept the creeping jenny from my summer window boxes in, because they are still looking pretty. We will see how long they last in the cooler temps. Then I added in some faux berries for a little pop of color. I always struggle with fall boxes because mums are so clumpy and I typical like to use trailing plants. Which is why I usually stick some faux berry springs in to get that look, although I think I need to pick up a few more. We also have plans to hit up a pumpkin patch this weekend, so I’m hoping to finish decorating my front porch and share that next week on the blog.

Now that it’s finally sweater weather, I wanted to share a few new fall pieces clothing wise I just picked up. I was wearing this shirt in my instagram stories last week and got lots of messages about it. It’s such a fun pop of color and the print is super cute. I picked it up at Lucky, which is not typically a place I shop, but I love this top. It looks really cute with jeans and booties, and I feel like red is such an on trend color this fall.

I also just got this sweater, which is basically a socially acceptable bathrobe. Now that it’s cooler, I practically wear it every day. I informed the Mr. to get use to this sweater because he would be seeing me in it 24/7 this winter. I got the grey one, but it comes in a few different colors as well. If you are always cold like me, this is the perfect sweater to keep handy – find yours here.

Ok and I bought this one too, give me all the bathrobes, I mean sweaters…

When I make the switch to long sleeves, I also switch up my makeup routine a bit too. I always love this Lorac pallet for the fall. The colors are all matte, which I tend to stick to in the Fall/Winter months and it just has the perfect pinky/brown shades for an everyday neutral eye.

I hope you all have fun fall weekend plans – I’m seeing pumpkin donuts and apple cider in my future!

  1. WOWZERS! I love your window boxes? Is ALL OF IT ALIVE? SO PERFECT! Today I was looking at the Nursery and trying to decide my color palate this year, wasnt feeling the Yellow like I usually do, was drawn to Purple adn Orange and green. LOVE WHAT YOU DID! I have to go and do mine tomorrow now in my Purple and Orange. Youre such an inspiration and do not feel bad about giving us a diversion. We all need it. I was in Vegas last week Monday -Friday and got the creepiest feeling on the strip on Thursday night. Thanks for the lightness and joy, we need it. Hugs!

  2. Love the window boxes but also the grey sweater is what I have been looking for! Thanks!

  3. Your flower boxes are gorgeous! I can’t wait to see your front porch. I’m going to get corn stalks and pumpkins for my porch next week (I’m out of town). Can’t wait! Just love your style.

  4. Kelly, very pretty. I’m all set to do my fall boxes this weekend except I can’t find small cabbage like you have. The ones I have are HUGE and not right for my boxes. Can you share where you found the smaller cabbage?

  5. Your flower boxes look beautiful! A friend told me she usually adds pops of faux to her flower boxes and I have done that since. (I don’t know why I was so slow to think outside the flower box!) Do you have any of those cute booties like in the photo?
