Friday Feels – Christmas Tree and Winter Boots

Welcome to another Friday Feels where I share what I’m “feeling” this week. This post contains affiliate links.

Hey guys, we made it through another week! Or at least that’s how I feel this time of year. My to do list seems never-ending at Christmas time, but one thing that makes me happy every night is to cozy on the couch with a glass of wine and hang out with my Christmas tree. I mean, the Mr. can hang out too, but it’s mainly about me and my tree ;) It just looks so pretty at night!

I thought I would share a few more details on our tree, which is finally back in stock AND on sale, so if you want to snag one for next year or you haven’t put up this year’s tree yet, go get one (find it here).

Tree with blue and white ornaments

One thing I like to do every year is put some oversized ornaments on the tree. This year I chose these large sort of snow covered wicker pine cone things. I found them at a local store called Fruitbasket Flowerland, so if you are local, you can check it out. I tried to find something similar to link here, but they are really unique.

Tree and Ornament

Another thing I do every year is use floral picks, frosted sticks, regular sticks, sticks from my yard painted white. and basically, whatever I find lurking in the bottom of the Christmas bin to fill out the tree. These cute snowball sticks were this year’s find.

I also got a lot of questions about where to find the navy ornaments – I got these at Michaels! I didn’t realize navy was going to be such a hard color to find, there were tons of super bright blue or pale blue but these were just what I was looking for.

A house in the snow

Also if you follow me on Instagram you may have seen this shot of our house in the snow! Let’s just focus on how pretty the tree looks through the window and not talk about how I took an unexpected step into the lake trying to take this shot…

Since it snowed AND I still can’t feel my left foot after it took a swim, I thought it would be a great time to share some of my favorite winter footwear. First up these Mukluk boots are so warm and cozy, they are my go to running around doing errands boots. They are comfy and warm without being too bulky.

I’m wearing them in this instagram pic. I’ll link the rest of my outfit below too.

When it’s super cold and I’m outside playing with my kids, shoveling snow or trekking through the woods, these Sorels are my must have. I have these boots in a different color (they don’t make mine anymore), but I love this color too. They are pricey, but I’ve had them for 3 years and they are still in fantastic shape.

When it comes to my kids, my daughter has these adorable mukluks for every day and they are so cute with leggings and sweaters.

For serious playing in the snow time, my go to boots are Bogs. Again they are pricey, but if you want something that’s going to survive an entire Michigan winter and keep your kids feet toasty and dry it’s worth the money. Living out in the middle of nowhere my kids are outdoors all the time and won’t come in until their little faces are blue. These are the Bogs I got my son this year and they are adorable!

So there you go, sorry if you live in the south and I’ve bored you to tears with all of the stuff you will never need, ha! Enjoy your sunshine and just rub it in like my mom does by sending me gorgeous sunny photos from Florida :)

I’ll leave you with one more instagram nighttime shot I took last week!
