Friday Feels – Must Have Makeup

Hey guys! Welcome to another Friday feels where I share what I’m “feeling” this week. (This post contains affiliate links)

Last year sometime, I did a post all about my favorite makeup splurges and I’m back this week with a few new fave products that are tried and true for me (if you missed that post you can check it out here).

must have makeup

Up first is this Dipbrow by Anastasia. Being a blonde, my eyebrows are already pretty non existent, but add in the fact that my hair and hormones have never really bounced back after having kids, and I have the saddest eyebrows you have ever seen. I haven’t plucked them or waxed them in years they just won’t grow. This tinted pomade makes it easier to fill in my eyebrows and looks more natural than using a pencil. Bonus, the blonde color is great as opposed to a lot of blonde pencils that tend to look orange.

Eyebrow pomade

The brush that goes with it is a must have too. Just dip the brush end in the pot, apply short strokes and blend it out with the spoolie thing on the other end.

Moving from eyebrows to under eye, you already know I love the Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer and if I was stranded on a deserted island, this would probably be the one thing I take with me!

A close up of concealerI’ve been using this Becca under eye brightening corrector underneath it lately, and the combo together is amazing. This brightens up the dark circles before you conceal them and it’s basically magic.

Full Coverage and Under Eye

My other go to when it comes to eyes is this Stila Stay All Day liquid eyeliner. It’s like a sharpie felt tip pen and so easy to apply. The skin around my eyes is sensitive and I hate how a normal eye pencil pulls. This makes it easy to get a really precise line.

Another recent fave is this Juice Beauty Phyto-pigment flawless serum foundation. I like this because it’s a light serum and it doesn’t settle into fine lines. You can build this up to make it more full coverage or it’s great light coverage to use on a good skin day. You do need to shake it well before use since it’s a serum. I alternate between this and It Cosmetics CC cream. I like It because it has 50 SPF in it, and the Juice one doesn’t have SPF at all. Although my moisturizer has SPF30 (I’m a little crazy about sunscreen on my face). So, I tend to use the It in the summer more and the Juice for the winter. The It is also a bit more full coverage for the days when I need it.

On to lips – every time I do an instastory (where I actually have my makeup done), someone asks what lip color I’m wearing. I line my lips and fill them in with Rimmel Lasting Finish Stay on Lip Liner in Blushing Nude and follow that up with Buxom Full On Lip Cream in Blushing Margarita. It’s a really nice pinkish nude color and it supposedly plumps your lips. I dunno, but it’s minty and it tingles on your lips a bit, so who knows if it works. Regardless, I like the color and formula.

Lip gloss

Ok, last thing I just got this It contouring brush set and I really like it. I don’t do a full on Kardashian contour (this momma does not have time for that), but I do take my bronzer under my cheek bones and across my brow bone with the bigger flat brush and take it down my nose a bit with the smaller brush, and use the other end to apply highlighter to my cheek bones when I’m feeling fancy (I’ll link the bronzer and highlighter below too!).

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and week! I’ll be taking off next week because I’m bringing the kiddos to Florida to visit my parents. Which means I can finally get some decent shots of their kitchen makeover and share them when I get back! Follow along on instagram if you want some sneak peeks! :)

  1. Thanks for the great tips regarding the brows. Mine have been kind of sick-looking since I started having thyroid troubles years ago. Was finally diagnosed with Hashimoto’s (auto-immune thyroid) and I guess you lose your outside eyebrows with thyroid problems. Unfortunately, I had the thyroid removed four years ago when they removed the parathyroid tumor and they filled back in for a short time and now, back to sparse. So will be sure to try your tips and brow makeup. Can’t wait to see the photos of your parents house. It never fails to amaze me how you make it look so easy to remodel or start from scratch and come up with the most loveliest rooms.

  2. My brows do not grow right due to when younger the heaters with the grates you had to light me…being dumb tried to light with face to close!!! So thank you for great info and tips

  3. I’m a philosophy addict and swear by their oxygen peels. For years I applied Bare Minerals after philosophy Renewed Hope in a Jar and B.E. primer but a year ago I switched to IT CC Cream – one step serum, moisturizer, primer, SPF, done! – and haven’t looked back. I’m never usually too far away from my go-to Burt’s Bees Vanilla Bean moisturizing lip balm. :-) I do like the IT brow pencil with brush at the other end. I’m able to fill in my light, natural-redhead brows and make them look, well, natural, but I’m still hoping someone will invent a good mascara that’s easy to apply by someone with really bad eyesight, lol! Have a wonderful time in FL and take lots of pics!
