I’m still in the midst of all my staining projects… seriously, I could use some Tom Sawyer persuasion skills to get someone to take over this fence project from me! Any takers? No?
Here’s a little tip from me to you, don’t wear jeans with holes in the knees when you stain. I was so careful to wear gloves and cover my hair and yet my knees are now permanently butternut brown. Oh well, I did get the dock all stained, so it feels good to cross one project off the list. We bought this dock used from a neighbor about 5 years ago, and with this new coat of stain, the old gal lives on another year. We still need to make some minor adjustments to get it straight, but the Mr. wants to wait til the water warms up a bit more to fix it. After spending last Saturday looking like dolphin trainers in our wet suits we were over it.
Since I’m in a major time crunch to get back outside with this nice weather and get the fence done, I thought I would quick share the little before and after of my parent’s coastal bathroom makeover. I really only grabbed a few shots of this room as an afterthought before we left for the airport, because I didn’t remember the change being too major in here. Looking back, it’s crazy what a difference just a few updates can make!
and AFTER –
This is proof that you don’t need to gut a bathroom to get a WOW change. This is the only bathroom on the main floor and it’s located between the two bedrooms.
Paint, new fixtures, and a new countertop that my mom ordered from Wayfair were the major changes in here.
Along with a new light fixture and mirror. You may recognize this mirror as the same one in our master bath, which my mom unknowingly snagged at Hobby Lobby just like me. Twinsies! A fun new rug adds a splash of pattern and color. Fresh, updated and done!
