Christmas Kitchen Decor
As promised, the Christmas cheer is coming your way this week! I’m so excited to be joining in on the Seasons of Home tour Series hosted by Kristen from Ella Claire. Today some of my favorite bloggers and I are sharing how we add a bit of Christmas to our kitchens. Be sure to check out all the amazing spaces my blogger friends are sharing – so many inspiring ideas! Christmas Kitchen Decor
I have to confess, last year I used real greenery in our kitchen and I loved the look. However I’ve finally decided live greenery is best left for non-bloggers, who aren’t decorating for Christmas on Halloween!
It’s just never going to last until Christmas. I finally took it down about a week before Christmas last year after my kids found one too many pine needles in their dinner. I mean they are green right? Basically a veggie ;)
This year, I used a beautiful faux garland above my range hood, and it has really pretty eucalyptus branches and pinecones in it. The key I have found to using faux greenery is finding garland that has several different kinds of branches and greenery in it.
Lots of questions last year on how I attach things to my hood – I used 3 – 3M strips (the 5lb hook kind) and they worked great. You do have to follow the directions carefully, but they removed with no marks just fine last year.
I found this cute “Rosemary” sign at Hobby Lobby for $8. It wasn’t with the Christmas decor, but rosemary sprigs always feel holiday to me. I like that it can transition to winter decor too.
While I skipped the live garland, I did find some cute “Christmas-y” live plants at my local nursery. I found this little juniper tree in the bonsai section of Fruitbasket Flowerland (my fave local spot for plants). I love the thought of having my own little Charlie Brown-esq Christmas tree to last me all season and through the winter too. My ever present bowl of oranges gets a little holiday twist with some cinnamon sticks and a pom pom garland.
I also found this little Jerusalem cherry tree for a pop of color – beware if you buy one of these, they are poisonous, so have a talk with your kiddos about not eating them! I love the holly vibe they have…
And it detracts from my attempt at decorating a gingerbread house myself. Fun fact – the Mr. is in charge of the gingerbread efforts at our house every year and now I know why! I’ll leave it to my kids and stick to my day job.
The breakfast nook got a little festive with a jar of tree clippings, because you know I’m always shopping my yard!
I’m hosting several Christmas parties this year and I always use this counter space back here to set up the beverage area. I’m a big believer in buffets over formal sit down dinners when there is a crowd to feed, so the breakfast nook doubles as a the “grab a plate” station.
These little bottle brush trees and reindeer add some fun without taking up too much space, and will easily be moved aside for ice buckets and beverages.
Of course I had to add a little bit of cheer in my newly wallpapered pantry (check it out here). Just a few ornaments and branches from the yard since this room is the most used in our whole house.
There we go, just a few simple touches to bring Christmas in the kitchen. I will be churning out cookies, pies and comforting meals here all season – sans pine needles this year!

Hi Kelly! I am in love with your kitchen! Just bought the book chairs and love the nook table but the link just goes to generic Wayfair table search. Are you able to give me more info on that table? Thank you!!
Hey I think that table is either sold out or discontinued – sorry about that! I actually bought a new table from Crate and Barrel to replace this one.
Hi! I just found your blog while searching white backsplashes. I love that black hanging rod with hooks above your range! That would be perfect to help cover up the really horrible tile job my builder did on the backsplash. He ruined beautiful hand crafted white subway tile. Can I ask you where you found that? Thank you!!
It’ just from ikea I think it’s $15 :)
