Halloween Mantel – Spiders, Witches and Skulls Oh My!

It’s October and one of my favorite holidays is just around the corner.

You know the one, where you send your little ghosts and goblins out into the neighborhood to collect candy and then promptly steal half of it to hide in your pantry and eat yourself to save them from a future filled with cavities. What? It’s the sign of a good mother, when you are willing to sacrifice your own teeth for the sake of your children, right?

I’ll admit I haven’t decorated for fall/halloween that much this year, because I’m in the midst of a big ole DIY project (coming soon to a blog near you!) but I promise I won’t disappoint come Christmas. In the meantime I’ll show you how I pulled a quick switcheroo with my Fall mantel and transformed it into this spookified Halloween mantel.

Halloween Chalkboard Art

I swapped out my pretty fall leaf chalkboard art for Miss Wicked Witch of the West up here, not to be confused with The Wicked Witch of the East who’s nose is much daintier…

Spider Halloween Mantel

I draped everything with some spooky spider webs and added these cute Martha Stewart paper spiders or “bug bugs” as my little man calls them.

I sketched a quick hocus pocus spell on my other chalkboard and tada I had my spooky mantel quicker than you can say “Expelliamius” (you all are Harry Potter fans right?).

Now about that big DIY project – “I solemnly swear that I’m up to no good…” stay tuned!

  3. Love your Halloween mantel. Looks real spooky! I don’t have a mantel to decorate anymore now that we live in Fl. Boo hoo. I decorate my sofa table now.
