Front Porch Christmas Decorations

Front porch Christmas decorations featuring red planters, pre-lit Christmas trees, and garland.

I always love to start my holiday decorating out on our front porch! We host my family every year for Christmas, and it’s nice to have a festive entrance to welcome them all. I think our front porch Christmas decorations make our house feel so cozy.

I may not have used red inside for my Christmas decor the last few years, (I’m sure I’ll make the return at some point) but the exterior decorating is a different story. Pops of red are always a must. They cheer up the gray and white blah-ness of our Michigan winters.

I partnered with Crate and Barrel last year to show off some of their fun exterior Christmas decorations. I absolutely love the white planters we use on our back patio in the summer so I couldn’t resist these festive Tooloo Red Planters.

They are such a nice cranberry color and I love the look with our dark siding. They look especially pretty dusted in snow! You’ll have to trust me on this one. Every time it snowed, it melted before I had the chance to shoot it.

I used Faux Potted Norway Spruce Pre-Lit LED Trees in the pots. They are so welcoming to drive up to at night.

I added garland along the top of our front porch this year as opposed to around the door. I broke the ladder in the process, but thankfully not myself. I may need to leave hanging garland to the professionals next year, aka the Mr….

I used a subtle classic stripe pillow cover to let the red planters take center stage.

These lanterns with battery operated candles are a fun addition to light the path for our guests. They look so nice on the patio in the summer as well.

I finished everything off with a pre-lit battery operated wreath. It’s always on a timer, so I don’t need to manually turn it on every night.

Santa Charlie is ready to greet guests and pass out presents on our festive front porch!

Our Crate and Barrel “Oh What Fun” door mat is sold out but this “Merry” door mat is similar! I love having a mat there to welcome guests when Charlie is napping.
