12+ Christmas Front Porch Decor Ideas

christmas porch ideas

I still can’t believe how quickly this Christmas season is sneaking up on us. It’s already been snowing quite a bit here and winter hasn’t even officially begun. One of my favorite parts of the getting into the holiday season is decorating the house, both inside and out. Sometimes we get so carried away on the inside, that we forget decorating the front porch brings such warmth to the house. Especially since it’s the first thing you and your guests see when pulling up to your home.

I’ve put together a list of some of my favorite Christmas porch ideas to hopefully inspire you to add some festive touches outside too! Some of the pieces are even things I used last year on the front porch for Christmas and still love. Nothing beats a warm and inviting entrance when it’s freezing cold outside.

Light Up Birch Trees

Maybe you have enough greenery and are looking to add in some more texture this season. If that’s the case, I absolutely adore these light up birch trees. They come in a few different size and would look so good layered in with your Christmas greenery.

Faux Cedar Wreath

You can never go wrong with a classic cedar wreath. Dress this one up with red velvet ribbon or small metallic ornaments if you’re wanting to add some more character.

Skis Door Mat

How fun is this skis door mat? It comes in two sizes and would be perfect left out all winter long since it’s not too Christmas specific.

Mistletoe

Ah the classic Christmas tradition of mistletoe. I love that this would add a small but cute touch of Christmas hanging right above your front door.

Black Lanterns

You know I love lanterns on the front porch. These are simple enough to use all year long but you can definitely spruce them up to be more festive for the holidays. Try adding red flameless candles or even filling them with shiny ornaments.

Flameless Birch Candles

I would add these adorable sugared birch candles to the lanterns above to bring some extra glow to the porch this winter.

Plaid Christmas Pillow

If you’re lucky enough to live in an area that stays warm during the winter, swap out your current porch pillows for these fun plaid Christmas pillows. I bet it would make your next hot chocolate on the porch even better!

Pre-Lit Faux Pine Trees

These faux trees are just so perfect and come in multiple sizes if you’re looking to add some depth. There’s nothing better than coming home on a winter day to a welcoming, well-lit front porch.

Red Planter

The faux pre-lit trees above are so festive in these red planters. They really bring out the Christmas spirit. It’s crazy what a difference changing out your pots on the front porch can make!

Log Holder

A log holder is another piece you could have out all year, but really spruce up for Christmas. Bonus is that you’ll always be ready to bring in a couple logs for your next gathering by the fireplace.

Green Cedar Garland

Similar to the wreath, I love this classic cedar garland. You’d be able to reuse this year after year and just change out the ribbon or accessories you use to switch it up a bit each year.

Red Velvet Ribbon

I love this velvet ribbon to add to really anything on your front porch. Tie it onto your wreaths, garland, or even the lanterns to bring in an extra pop of red.

Holiday Window Swag

If you don’t want to put the time and energy into re-doing your window boxes for Christmas, these would also be so festive placed on your window ledges.

Wooden Christmas Skis

These wooden skis would look so cute propped up next to the front door, or even hung on the outside of your home. They could also stay up a bit longer than just Christmas time since they give off a full winter vibe.
