The 16 Best Chunky Knit Throw Blankets

Winter and the cold weather that comes along with it is in full force yet again! One of my favorite ways to add some more natural layers and a touch of warmth to our house is by adding chunky knit throw blankets to the lounging areas. Draping them over chairs and couches, or even adding them to a basket in the room can make such a difference.
Whether you like a classic neutral blanket or are wanting a pop of color, I’ve put together some of my favorite chunky knit throws to help transform your reading nook, living room, or bedroom. They vary widely in price, but personally I find myself wrapped in a cozy throw every night during winter, so splurging on a nice cashmere or wool throw that will last for years is worth it to me.
I’m really here for the luxurious vibe and warmth that these throws bring to any space, so hopefully this helps to make your favorite lounging spot even more cozy this season.
Chunky Knitted Throw Blanket
We have this throw blanket and absolutely love it (it’s also Junie’s favorite to snuggle up in). The thick woven knit is so pretty and it comes in a ton of colors.

Sable Chunky Throw
This neutral white throw is definitely inviting me to cozy up on the couch. Just add a fire, some hot chocolate, and your favorite holiday movie!

Goleta Throw
The unique color and texture of this blanket is everything! Green is certainly having a moment right now but I love that this is essentially a neutral.

Waffle Weave Blanket
Who doesn’t love a good waffle weave texture? This one comes in so many colors–I want them all!

Knit Geo Throw Blanket
I love the look of this blanket if you want something a bit more attention grabbing. It’s still neutral so it would work in a variety of spaces, but the unique pattern has me hooked. Plus, it comes in a variety of colors that would make a great gift (the purple color is so perfect for a teen girl).

Sherman Cashmere Throw
This throw is definitely at a luxury price point, but has anyone every regretted buying cashmere? I can see this classic staple lasting for years to come (and it’s on sale right now!)

Oversized Chunky Knit Throw
For a more affordable option, this chunky knit throw is under $80 but the color makes it look so rich.
Cable Knit Throw
Is it acceptable to wear a blanket? I want a sweater made out of this throw. This cable knit would be the perfect winter blanket and it’s such a steal.

Chunky Knit Throw
You can’t go wrong with a hand knit throw. This one comes in six colors and has nearly perfect reviews. It would keep you so warm and cozy during these cold few months ahead.

Italian Boiled Wool Stripe Throw
This boiled wool throw is made in Italy and looks just as luxurious as it sounds. The neutral stripes would work in any space.
Oversized Rib Knit Throw
Snuggling up in this buttery soft throw while reading in your favorite chair is what dreams are made of. I love the simple, yet detailed weave on this one.

Cozy Knit Fable Throw
The pattern and texture on this throw would add such nice dimension draped across your couch or bed.

Organic Cotton Weighted Knit Blanket
If weighted blankets are more your thing, this knit one is so pretty and classic. It comes in three different weight options/sizes.
Moss Throw Blanket
This one also comes in many colors, but I’m just really loving the greens lately. The color-blocking on this is so fun and different.

Overlook Throw
The simplicity of this knit throw is what drew me in. This is such a classic and would look good anywhere.

Faux Mohair Throw
These mohair throws look so cozy and come in the dreamiest colors that would transition so nicely into spring!

Building a very small, one room ADU at our place on a mountain lake in the northwest. In addition to being a guest space in the Summer, it will be used for Winter storage for kayaks and a scull (decorative cement floors?). We have decided to use a barnwood type wood on the ceiling (plus exposed wood beams) and on the walls. There will be some stone accents including a gas fireplace. Wanting cozy cabin room right on the beach/water. Pros and cons of light wood cabinetry or neutral color painted cabinets on the wall where there will be just a sink, under counter frig and coffee bar. The lake house above (where cooking is done) is very much the color palette of your lake home (i.e. neutrals and navy) Love your lilypad ideas! Opinions??
