Cottage Kitchen and Tile Update
The end is in sight at my parent’s lake cottage build! The painter has been busy painting the lower level. The tile guys have been working away in the bathrooms. The kitchen has countertops – we are getting there! Today, I have a cottage kitchen and tile update for you.

Let’s start in the mudroom/front entry. My mom fell in love with this buffalo check patterned tile floor idea. I think the tile guys were less enthused, they said it was a hard pattern to get right, but they nailed it. I can’t wait to see the wallpaper go up in here too.

The flooring continues around the corner here and leads into the guest bath. The guest bath tile is another intricate tile design. It turned out beautifully. The woodwork will get a coat of white paint and there will be wallpaper added too.

Over in the primary bathroom the flooring tile is done and they started on the shower. I love this blue tile! The walls will be sprayed bright white. The dark wood with the deep navy and bright white is going to be so pretty.

We added an inlay accent tile “rug” in front of where the freestanding tub will be. It’s hard to see in this photo, but I didn’t want to step on the tile.
Let’s head over to the kitchen! Gah the countertops are here and they are perfect! We went with Dekton which is a porcelain countertop and super durable. This is the color Soke. It is a really pretty soft gray with blue and green undertones.

They still need to add the Dekton backsplash beneath the hood. It will go up to the vertical paneling and there will be a little ledge.

The hood! My uncle did such a great job making this come to life from some general sketches I gave him. It will get a coat of white paint to contrast with the cabinetry and match the range.

The sink wall will be tiled soon and they need to add crown to the cabinetry yet.

Over in the living room we decided to forgo a fireplace, since this home will mainly be used in the summertime. We went with built-in cabinetry instead. A frame tv will hang in the center section.

It’s been so fun to see all of our design choices coming together. They are hoping for a Memorial weekend move in date.
I can’t wait to get the furniture placed and install the rest of the decor. It’s going to be a fun summer!

That tilework all through the house is stunning!! And those huge beams! Just gorgeous!
I have really enjoyed watching this build. Everything is gorgeous. I was wondering if your parents have a garage across the street like you do?
