Lake Cottage Bedroom Design

We are getting closer and closer to the completion date on my parent’s Lake Cottage. The countertops were installed today, and they are working on tile. I’ll have an update post for you soon, but today I wanted to share the lake cottage bedroom design we chose for the primary bedroom.

I mentioned before that we are using a lot of navy and white in this home. I would say the primary bedroom and bath is the room where we are sticking to that color scheme the most.

We kicked off the design with a classic striped wallpaper and chose a coordinating navy bed. We chose a wood dresser for the opposite of the room and white night stands. The jute rug brings in a bit of a texture and a natural element. We rounded everything out with brass accents like framed artwork and the gorgeous wall sconces.

We are still playing around with bedding and pillow ideas. I always feel like that’s something you need to work out in the space. I love the idea large floral patterned pillows to play against the smaller stripes.

Pops of green from plants will add life to the lake house bedroom design as well. I’m just itching to get in their and start accessorizing and decorating. They are shooting for a move in date of Memorial Day weekend, so crossing my fingers that’s the case!

  1. Are you just wallpapering behind the bed or the whole room? I had already looked at Pottery Barn wallpaper before and I have 9 foot ceilings so a roll only does one length!
