Navy and French Blue Pillows
I know, I know. Navy and French Blue Pillows. Didn’t I just post about the rust colored fall pillows I added to the living room? Yes, yes, I did. We all know I have a throw pillow addiction. It’s a well documented problem.
Although the closet under the stairs has now turned into “the pillow closet” aka – a giant pillow pile/padded room that has become the favorite reading nook in the house for my kids. So you say “pillow problem.” I say “educational opportunity.” It’s all about perspective. :)
If I could live anywhere, it would be inside a Serena and Lily magazine. Or actually I don’t want to live there because my kids would destroy it, but maybe visit by myself as my very own personal happy space.
So, when they offered to send me some of their new fall navy and french blue pillows I jumped at the chance to partner with them. Although truth be told, these pillows will be carrying me all through winter as well.
I love the deep navy blues and brighter tones of the french blue against our all white everything. These pillows are so well made and the detail on them is beautiful.
And yes, they are Charlie approved.
As evidenced by the fact that he is in every stinking shot, I finally had to stick him outside so I could finish shooting this ha!
When the lake freezes over the view out the window is still beautiful, albeit a bit bleak and typically all snowy white. That’s when I really crave more color in the house which is probably opposite of how most people decorate for winter.
I love the punch of color they add to our space, and they look so pretty with the blue water in the background.
I also changed up the mantel with a more streamlined mirror. I’ve actually had that old DIY mirror above our mantel at this house and our old house for 3 years. That has to be some kind of world record for me! I’m thinking ahead to Christmas decor and realized I wanted a simpler mirror for my mantel plans this year.
I actually plan on hanging it up, but it weighs quite a bit and I need the Mr. to help me hang it. He’s been traveling all week and I know at the top of his list when he comes home is a little DIY project! ;)
I also found these pretty vases to add some more color to the mantel. Well, that and the little copper pot I used for my fall home tour was my utensil holder in the kitchen. It was driving me nuts that I couldn’t find anything in my drawers! I shop my home a lot when I want to change things up (case in point all those rust pillows are now on the basement couch) but I think that’s the last time I borrow from the kitchen.
I’m loving my little room refresh. Speaking of room refreshes, if you follow me on instagram you know the pantry got new wallpaper this week! Which funnily enough I bought at Serena and Lily as well – I guess I’m inching my way into that catalog life. I have been busy organizing and rearranging everything in there and I’m hoping to share that next week.
Also quick note – I always include a source list at the end of my blog posts listing where everything is from, but I have been getting some comments and emails lately asking where to find things. So, I just wanted to clear up any confusion. Whenever there is a BOLD word that is actually a link to the specific product. All you need to do is click on the word and it will take you to the product.
These are typically affiliate links which I always disclose (read more about my disclosure policy here). That just means I get a small commission if you purchase something through one of my links. It doesn’t cost you anything extra, and I really appreciate anytime you purchase something through my links if you like something I share!
Bonus – Serena and Lily is having a big sale right now! You can get 20% off everything with the code HOMELOVE. Click here to head to their site or I linked every specific item below.

Thank you for answering, I’m sure you get the same questions over and over. Really appreciate it. Have a wonderful day in that pretty home of yours.
Goodmorning,
Wondering what size mirror you ordered?
I was on the link this am and many sizes came up.
I am so happy Wayfair ships to Canada.
Enjoy your day,
Kelly
This is the 36 inch I believe!
I love your sectional! Which one is it at Art Van Furniture? Your style in so inspiring! Adore it!
I believe it’s called the Harper sectional.
Oh my goodness, I just love this! I am glad you tag where you find your beautiful things. I almost stroked when I saw the prices at Serena and Lily! There is a store here in Connecticut. I will have to look for “copies” LOL or great sales! I love blue and white and I love how your pup is in the photos.
Thanks Lynn, their products are definitely investment pieces but they are so well made and I know I will love these pillows for a long time!
I’m in love with their pilllows! I’ve seen them popping up on several bloggers feeds and they are all so beautiful! Unfortunately, I could never bring myself to pay that much for a pillow- but every once in awhile I find ones that look very similar at HomeGoods. I have a pillow addiction as well!❤️??
Hey Lynne they are definitely a splurge but I know they will last a long time because they are so well made. HomeGoods is a great place to find a similar style for sure!
CHARLIE IS SO CRAZY CUTE!!! Your living room is beautiful. I love the blues.
Thanks so much Kelly!
Love everything about this space! Love the pillows but WOW really pricey even with the sale :(
Looks beautiful though!
Hey thanks Amber! Their stuff is definitely high end but it’s great quality. I actually like to buy one great piece from there and mix it in with less expensive items. For example I bought a lumbar pillow for my bed on sale for $75 and the rest of my bedding is Target. It’s great to mix and match for a high end look :)
I love your decorating. Your home is beautiful and I thought your fall home tour was the best. When I opened your blog yesterday, I had to say I was surprised to see the change but can see why you are loving those pillows. The blue is stunning in your room. My favorite look so far.
Thanks Kim! The fall decor got spread thru the rest of the house so it’s still around :)
Hi Kelly, just wanted to ask you where did you get your bowls on your table from, love the texture. Your space is so pretty maybe you need a she shed. I’m truly thinking of one not sure where I would put it, I guess it’s the laundry room for now?
They are from HomeGoods aren’t they fun? I love the texture of them too! My she shed is my pantry lol!
I’m normally not a fan of blue at all (which may have something to do with our college rivalry ;) ), but I LOVE these pillows!!! They’re perfect for your home!!! I also want to buy all the things from Serena and Lily.
Ha! That’s too funny! I can’t get enough blue ;)
I would love to come and stay at your house for my “personal happy place”! I love all the windows facing the lake…and such a beautiful decorated family room. Problem would be…I would want to sit and read and look at the lake and trees all day and wouldn’t get any work done!
It is tempting to just hang out and enjoy especially when the weather is beautiful like it has been the past 2 days. Luckily the couch is my office so I do all my blogging from here :)
Hi Kelly, love your style. I noticed two throws on your sofa. Would you remember where the patterned one was from?
You inspire me and make me happy. Pouring rain here where I live and the blue pillows would sure brighten up my white sofas. I love the mix of patterns. (Thanks for the discount code btw)
It’s the perfect day to stay home with a large cup of pumpkin spice coffee and order on line.
Enjoy your day,
Kelly
I actually bought that one a few years back at a local store that has since gone out of business unfortunately! There is no tag on it either so I don’t know the brand. The other one is from Serena and Lily – thanks!
Finally some color in the room, love it
Beautiful! I soooo love your blog and that view!
Thanks so much Kathy I love sharing with you all!
Oh my, looove the pillows! They really complement that killer view.
Thanks Dori, the bright blue is such a fun change!
Well I really do love to see the ‘little guy’ in the pics! ?. He’s really cute. And btw, the shelves would really POP if the background was painted dark blue. Myself, I’’m loving SW Naval right now.
Your room is just lovely!
He is such a photobomber! Half the time I don’t notice him in the shot until I upload them ha!
Love the pillows! The pics are stunning- and I love Charlie’s photo bombing talent! ❤️
He has a knack for it!
Your rust colored pillows looked very nice but, I have t admit, I LOVE the blue!! I love to change things up often too so I enjoy seeing what you do all the time. Gives me ideas!!
Thanks Catherine I’m constantly puttering around changing things up, glad to know I’m not alone.
I could live at Serena and Lily as well! All the blue is just perfect for this beautiful room!
Shelley
Thanks Shelley, I’m hoping to make it to one of their stores someday we don’t have one around here.
well it all looks gorgeous and SO tidy and clean…I’m envious :). I can see why you love the pillows~they go perfectly in that space. And my hubby would so understand your husband’s joy at finding a project waiting for him at the end of a day ;)
Ha, I have a feeling that mirror will be hanging out like that for a loooong time!
