Spring Piano Room
Ready for day 2 of our 6 days of spring? Today I’m sharing a little tour of my favorite room at my mom’s house.
There is one room in my mom’s house that always feels like spring.
On the dullest of winter days you can curl up in the armchair and pretend it’s May.
It is painted the perfect spring shade of yellow…
and her prized orchids provide a beautiful pop of color.
Couldn’t you just spend every afternoon relaxing in here with a good book?
Oh and did you miss this gorgeous piece?
My mom used to play the piano every Sunday in church, that gene totally missed me (I had to fake playing the recorder in 4th grade even) but my 5 year old daughter has big plans to take piano lessons next year…I think just so she can hang out in this room.
I’ll gladly sit right here in my grandmother’s chair and listen…with ear plugs in place :)
Sorry picture overload, but every corner of this room is my favorite spot. I may just have to move back in :)
Here are the links for the other spring projects for Day 2. Make sure you stop by and check out these amazing blogs!

What a beautiful room! Do you have any tips or know of a good web site for caring for orchids? My daughter bought me one recently and I’ve never had one before. It’s so gorgeous that I want to keep it properly so it will last a long time. Hugs, Leena
Oh Kelly- you take such GORGEOUS pictures, wow!
Is this a guest room that your mom turned into a music room? It is absolutely beautiful. Orchids are my favorite flowers. They are the most glorious flower ever! I would love to have a room like your moms full of orchids!
What a beautiful room and so full of spring!!!!
What a beautiful room~ love love love the orchids- so pretty!!
I love how fresh and inspiring this room feels. Those orchids add such great spring pop to the room.
Beautiful room! Lovely, just lovely. That kind of room is needed on a day like today. Rain/Snow/Ice Mix…YUCK! Thanks for sharing and putting some “sunshine” in my day! :)
Beautiful home! I always thought of trying orchids…

I’ll be right over to sit a spell – the orchids are beautiful and the room feels so welcoming and warm. I can see why you would want to move back.

Your mom’s room is beautiful. I love the piano. I took lessons on a spinet but always wished for a grand or baby grand piano. Good luck with the winter weather. I am in Indiana and today we have rain that is supposed to turn into snow, but not much.
Beautiful! I do want to move in – I want to get my hands on that piano so bad! I want a yamaha someday.
Like mother like daughter – I can see where you got your fabulous style!!
Love the capiz chandelier – you’ll really enjoy sitting in here with your earplugs firmly in place!

Yes that room is beautiful. It’s feminine and so inviting! Love the walls, the chair fabric, the orchids, and that chandelier. :)
Maybe you didn’t get her musical skills, but it looks like you got her decorating skills. Beautiful room! Good luck w/the snow storm today!
