Rainbow Taylor Swift Bedroom
If you’ve been following me for long you may remember when I did my niece’s Peppa Pig room – more on that in a minute. Well, her little sister was ready for her turn. She is my favorite little spunky 6 year old and she had opinions! She requested “a rainbow, unicorn, Taylor Swift theme with yellow, purple, and blue walls”…That’s a lot to pack in one little room, but I did my best! So I present to you my niece’s Rainbow Taylor Swift Bedroom.

Let’s start with the walls. Since I couldn’t quite figure out how to make the “yellow, blue, purple walls” request work I decided to give them a fresh coat of white paint. Then I ordered this rainbow wallpaper mural. I figured I would be hitting all the colors and the rainbow theme in one shot that way!

The rainbow was surprisingly easy to install, and kicked off the color scheme for the rest of the room.

I added this cute polka dot bedding from H&M (which is now sold out unfortunately) and found some adorable throw pillows to match. I found the coziest blanket to add as well.

This unicorn stuffed animal checked off the unicorn part of the theme, and coincidentally was her favorite part of the room! She now carries “Mrs. Unicorn” with her everywhere she goes…in fact I’m just realizing now that she isn’t in these photos because she took her to her mom’s house. Ha! Well I’ll link it for you but you will just have to imagine the cuteness. :)

Since I went white on the walls, I wanted to make sure there was plenty of color in the room still. I added purple drapes and a large pink rug as well.

You may recognize this DIY chair and dresser as they used to belong to my daughter. They work great in her room now.

Now to tackle the Taylor Swift portion of the room…here is my big tip when it comes to kid’s rooms – use artwork that is easily interchangeable to give them the theme they want. I found tons of great Taylor Swift themed art on Etsy. In a few years when she may not be in her “Swiftie” era anymore it will be easy to swap out with whatever new thing she loves.

Speaking of, back to the Peppa Pig room for a minute. I couldn’t give my 6 year old niece a cool new Rainbow Taylor Swift Room and leave my now 9 year old niece with an old Peppa Pig theme…

I was able to easily swap out the Peppa Pig wall art for a few of the Taylor Swift cover art prints and she was a happy camper!

I ended up putting my daughter’s old rug in her room too, it matched perfectly with the wall color. If you know me, I couldn’t stop there, so I swapped out the bedding as well.

My brother put bunkbeds in her room since we redid her room last, so she needed a matching set anyway. I found super cute and inexpensive bedding at Target to finish the space off.

I love doing kid’s room and I’m thrilled they love their new spaces! Now did I mention they have an older brother too…stay tuned for that one! I’m just waiting on a new rug to arrive and I’ll have a new soccer themed room to debut too!
