Lake House Construction Update

I owe you all a big lake house construction update on my parent’s house. Things have been moving right along. Since I last updated you they have all the windows installed, drywall has started, and they are working away on the siding.

Here’s a shot of the street side of the house. They still need to finish the siding around the front door and trimming the windows. They also definitely need a front porch, but that will have to wait until the temps warm up.

Here is what the front of the house looks like from inside. Those are the kitchen windows looking out over the street. The mudroom/front entry is to the right there.

Here is the opposite side of that room which will be the living room area. Their view is going to be so beautiful!

This will be a covered porch with retractable screens. My mom is so excited to have her morning coffee out here.

Here’s a look at the lake side of their house. There will be a large patio underneath the decks here.

This is the view out their primary bedroom. Envision navy and white wallpaper, warm wood floors, and a cute little cafe table set on the deck.

The view in the office is going to be gorgeous too!

Here’s a peek at their walkout basement. There are two bedrooms down here, a bathroom, and a family room. They don’t anticipate using this space a whole lot since it’s just the two of them. However, it made sense from a resale stand point to take advantage of the walkout lot and add the basement.

We are getting closer and closer to the fun part. Once the drywall is done, we can start talking about all the trim work and cabinets – can’t wait! You can check out the full house plan here.

  1. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL. YES, love the arches … correction … love EVERTHING.

  2. Those beams are just incredible – I love seeing how people live that are not in my tax bracket, LOL. And if that sounds like I’m jealous, it’s because I am – it’s a beautiful home, they should be very proud of being able to have a vacation home like this!
